RHACC is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Japanese Tutor to join our adult education and community learning programme on a Variable Hours basis.

RHACC delivers high-quality learning opportunities to a diverse community of adult learners. Our Japanese courses attract a wide range of students, including hobbyists, travellers, professionals looking to expand their linguistic skills, and individuals with a personal interest in Japanese language and culture.

We are looking for a tutor who can inspire and motivate learners of varying abilities, creating engaging and inclusive lessons that build confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing Japanese.

About the Role

You will plan and deliver high-quality Japanese language courses that enable learners to develop practical communication skills while gaining an appreciation of Japanese culture, customs, and etiquette.

Your teaching will focus on creating interactive, student-centred learning experiences with an emphasis on:

• Natural conversation and spoken communication
• Practical vocabulary and everyday language use
• Japanese cultural awareness and etiquette
• Developing learner confidence and fluency
• Creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment
• Monitoring learner progress and providing constructive feedback

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• Experience teaching Japanese to adult learners
• A recognised teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one
• Native or near-native proficiency in Japanese
• Strong knowledge of Japanese culture, traditions, and social etiquette
• The ability to design engaging, learner-focused lesson plans
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A commitment to inclusive practice and learner success
