Counselling Tutor (Variable Hours)

Richmond and Hillcroft Adult and Community College provides an impressive environment to support learning. We design and deliver courses to meet the wide range of needs and interests of adults of all abilities and backgrounds.  

We are seeking an experienced Tutor to teach on our Counselling courses.   

As a Part-time Tutor, you will join our bank of teaching staff and will be offered courses as and when, that match your area of expertise.  Part-time Tutors work closely with Programme Managers in designing, planning and delivering courses which stretch and challenge our learners, as well as preparing a variety of learning materials, providing guidance to learners on progression options, attending termly meetings and completing course administration relating to Internal Quality Assurance.

The successful candidate will be a BACP member and can be working towards accreditation.  Candidates will be undergoing continual professional development as per the BACP requirements, and also will be educated to Diploma in Counselling level, with significant post qualification experience including attendance of supervision. 

Applicants should have experience of a volunteer placement as well as private practice. In addition to counselling experience and qualifications, applicants should hold a minimum adult teaching qualification and have teaching and lesson preparation experience in an adult environment. 

In addition, applicants should have experience of assessing work in line with Internal Quality Assurance processes. Assessor qualifications are desirable and applicants who do not currently hold these will be expected to undertake the awards during the first year following appointment.  

Applicants should be familiar with the integrative model of theory as well as other models such as Freud and Rogers.
