As well as a Degree which shows that you have the knowledge to teach English, we expect applicants to hold a full teaching qualification such as the Cert Ed or the equivalent along with QTLS. Previous teaching experience in FE would be an advantage. We would expect you to be able to teach up to GCSE English and Functional Skills level 2 English but there will also be work available at Entry Levels and Level 1. Courses are scheduled on weekdays and some evenings. The college is based in Richmond, at the Parkshot centre and the bulk of the work will be available on this site. However, work may also be available in our Surbiton site – Hillcroft College. We may also be able to offer you some community based work. As a part-time tutor you will be expected to complete the administration associated with these courses. You will also be expected to attend team meetings at least once a term during an academic year.
