About the role:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Jazz Tutor specializing in drums, percussion (including tuned percussion), or jazz harmonica to join our vibrant music faculty. In this role, you will deliver high-quality tuition, inspiring students across a range of abilities to develop their technical skills, improvisational fluency, and stylistic awareness in jazz performance. You'll play a key part in nurturing the aspiring creative musicians, guiding students through both structured learning and exploratory practice. We have a large cohort of SEND students, if you have experience teaching SEND students this would be advantageous but not essential.
About you:
You will be able to deliver engaging learning sessions for a range of learner groups and ability levels, ensuring high levels of learner satisfaction with the College and its services. You will be able to discuss ideas for developing and promoting sessions/courses to increase learner numbers and attract new learner groups with the programme manager.
You will be able to undertake assessment, educational guidance, preparation of learning materials and assignments, feedback and marking of students’ work, and administration of own courses. You will have English and Maths minimum Level 2 qualifications, and a qualification or industry experience in your specialist area.
