We are looking for a Wellbeing Advisor to support our learners in our adult community college. The applicant should have the skills and empathy to make a positive difference in learners' lives and their studies.
About the Role
As a Wellbeing Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting the mental and emotional wellbeing of students across two campuses: Hillcroft and Parkshot. From September 2025, the role will be based solely at Parkshot campus. You will provide confidential support and advice, help students navigate any wellbeing challenges, and work closely with colleagues to ensure a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one support to students facing wellbeing challenges, offering advice, guidance, and referrals when necessary.
- Collaborate with the Additional Learning Support (ALS) Coordinator and other staff to identify and address student needs.
- Organise and deliver wellbeing-related workshops and initiatives across both campuses.
- Help students access relevant support services, both internal and external, ensuring they feel heard and supported.
- Promote a positive and supportive learning environment, contributing to the college's commitment to student welfare.
About You
We are looking for someone who is empathetic, approachable, and has a strong understanding of the challenges that adult learners may face. You should be a good listener with excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Experience in a wellbeing or support role, ideally within an educational or similar setting.
- Strong knowledge of mental health and wellbeing issues, with the ability to offer appropriate support.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a range of staff and external agencies.
Working Hours: This is a term-time only position, with hours aligned to the academic calendar. It is a variable hour role but is currently expected to be approximately 9 hours per week, however this is subject to change. The role will involve working across both campuses until the end of the 2025 academic year and then based solely at Parkshot campus from September 2025.
