The Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head of Foundation Learning to lead our Supported Learning and Skills for Life and Employability programmes. In this key leadership role, you will ensure high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment across these programmes, fostering an inclusive environment where learners, including those with SEND, can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Foundation Learning curriculum to meet the needs of learners with SEND and those pursuing Skills for Life and employability skills.
  • Oversee effective support systems for learners with additional needs, enabling them to progress in work, wellbeing, and independence.
  • Align teaching and learning with RHACC’s strategic goals, quality assurance processes, and Ofsted requirements.
  • Manage Programme Managers and Learning Support Coordinators, ensuring high standards of performance and support.

About You
You have a proven track record of leading educational programmes for adult learners, particularly those with SEND and Skills for Life. You understand quality improvement processes and the Ofsted framework and have experience in improving learner outcomes.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience in leading improvements in learner outcomes and creating inclusive learning environments.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement processes and teaching practices.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding, and Health and Safety.
  • Full teaching qualification.
  • Desirable: Experience teaching English and/or maths, with a subject specialism qualification in either.
