About the role:

The college currently has an exciting opportunity for a qualified and experienced Early Years tutor. 

As a Variable Hours Tutor, you will be part of the teaching team who deliver our Early Years and Supporting Teaching and Learning courses, which will include short Introductory courses through to Level 3 Diplomas.  

Working closely with the Programme Manager for Care and Counselling, you will be assigned to a suitable NCFE/CACHE course/s for which you will plan and deliver high quality learning programmes that meet the needs of all learners. 

You will be responsible for the management of coursework and ePortfolios via an [online] learning platform. You will complete standard quality assurance tasks related to course planning and management, learner attendance and punctuality, learner progression, assessment and evaluation. 

You will be invited to attend regular 1:1 and team meetings. You may also assist with learner recruitment processes for example, initial assessment, learner interviews and college Open Days. 

Please note that this role will be paid at either the standard rate of £22.08 per hour (plus £3.40 holiday pay per hour) or the enhanced rate of £26.45 per hour (plus £4.07 holiday pay per hour) depending on the level of course taught.

About you:

Applicants for this post, must meet the following criteria:

    You will have experience of teaching Early Years (including the NCFE/CACHE syllabus)

    current occupational competence 

    sound knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum 

Subject Specialist Qualification 

    A minimum of a Level 3 (or above) qualification in the vocational subject area

Teaching Qualification/s

    You will have a professional teaching qualification e.g. DTLLS/PGCE/Cert Ed, or Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training, (or equivalent) or be willing to train towards one

    You will have a minimum of one years’ experience of teaching and assessing at Level 2 (or above)

    Preferably you will hold an Assessor Award or be willing to train towards one 

Occupational Competence

    You will be an experienced practitioner who has worked within a childcare setting at room leader level or above
